The man command represents
``manual.'' Namely you can use this command
to lookup and discover details of nearly any (standard) command on a system.
Not all commands work with man, however, the lack is mostly restricted
to custom programs and software packages
Once invoked your terminal screen will change to show the details of the
command you requested. You can use the arrow keys to scroll up or down, and
press the ``q'' key to quit.
Examples:
[jdpoisso@axiom ~]$ man apropos <-- apropos man page displayed --> [jdpoisso@axiom ~]$ [jdpoisso@axiom ~]$ man ls <-- ls man page displayed --> [jdpoisso@axiom ~]$
